About Our Dentists
Dr. Fred Diedrichsen
Dr. Diedrichsen was born and raised in northeast Nebraska and graduated from Scribner Public Schools in 1962. He attended the University of Nebraska, earning a BS degree in zoology in 1966. Dr. Diedrichsen graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 1970, and served two years in the U.S. Army. He has practiced dentistry in Holdrege, Nebraska since 1972.
Dr. Diedrichsen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association, and the Southwest District Dental Association of Nebraska. He also belongs to several honorary dental associations including the Academy of General Dentistry, the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists, and Pierre Fauchard Academy International.
Dr. Tom Nelsen
Dr. Nelsen was born and raised in central Nebraska and graduated from Cozad High School in 1999. He graduated from Hastings College, Hastings Nebraska with a BA degree in biology in 2003. Dr. Nelsen graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in 2007 and joined the Holdrege Family Dental Care team.
Dr. Nelsen is a member of the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association, the Southwest District Dental Association of Nebraska, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
Dr. Jonathon Sand
Dr. Sand is a 2003 graduate of Bertrand High School, and a 2010 graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry. While in school at Chadron State College, Dr. Sand participated in the Rural Health Opportunity Program (RHOP) which assists medical and dental students from rural Nebraska who will return to practice in the rural areas of the state. Dr. Sand received the highest score in his class for the National Board Exam and was also honored for his skill in patient management.
Prior to joining Holdrege Family Dental Care, Dr. Sand was briefly in private practice then served at the West Central District Health Department in North Platte. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Nebraska Dental Association and the American Academy of General Dentists. In his leisure time, he enjoys farming, hunting, woodworking and spending time with his wife, Mandy and daughter, Addy.
